Since Mark began designing kitchens three decades ago, the kitchen has become a very different place.
“It used to be just the room at the back of the house where food was prepared by one individual – a lonely existence,” he says. “Now the kitchen is an exciting focal point of family life with televisions, casual seating and dining. All these need integrating into the room, blending with the colours and textures of the kitchen as a whole.”
In Mark’s view, the role of the kitchen designer has never been more essential. “It’s all about visualising the way the family will use their home,” he says. “Good design can have a really positive effect on the way a family interacts and enjoys the full use of the whole house.
Mark has access to all levels of product from high quality ‘Builders Merchants’ kitchens through cutting-edge German makers up to hand-crafted English traditional styles. With such a lot of possibilities we can create true dream kitchens within most budgets,” says Mark.
Working from his prestigious showroom in Prestwich, Mark uses a state-of-the-art CAD system to show clients their empty space. He can then build their kitchen in virtual reality, finally taking them on a ‘walk through’ of the new layout in 3D. “This gives the client a real feeling for size, position and scale – a true picture of every detail,” explains Mark. “It’s about giving people a real insight into the potential of the new room – what can really be achieved."
Mark on networking…
“A local Bowdon couple had employed architect and club member Jonathan Riddle to design a beautiful extension for their home.
Jonathan gave me the referral and I contacted them immediately. Working closely with the clients, with Jonathan and with the builder, I was able to get the kitchen from concept to a living space that did everything the client dreamed it would.Add to Favorites
